Meet Bill

Bill White is a United States Marine Corps veteran, lawyer, and husband and father to a beautiful family that includes his wife Ellen and his children Jesse, Brandyn, Amanda, and Jera. He has lived in Joplin for 25 years, and has served as a juvenile attorney, Boy Scouts district chairman, state representative, and state senator.

As a military veteran and the first in his family to graduate from college, Bill understands the virtues of service and hard work as well as anyone. He worked as a software engineer after his service in the Marine Corps and moved to Joplin while pursuing his law degree in 1992. Since then, he has been consistently involved in the community, especially working to impact the lives of youth in Joplin. He was a new state representative in 2011 when the tornado devastated the area, and has been a devoted part of the recovery efforts.

Bill’s faithful devotion to his country, community, and family has given him a clear perspective on what it means to serve. He understands that our rights and values don’t defend themselves, and that the cost of defending those ideals is real and worthwhile. In the state legislature, Bill has stood up for Missourians’ constitutional rights, including the unalienable, God-given right to life. He understands that fiscal responsibility and job-friendly policies are key to growing our state’s economy. He also knows first hand that the support of those who lay their lives on the line for their country and community is vital to a safer, freer Missouri.

Bill White is running for re-election for state senator to continue defending the rights of his fellow Missourians. Senator White currently serves as Chairman for the Seniors, Families, Veterans and Military Affairs and was elected by his colleagues to serve as the Assistant Majority Floor Leader.
